If your district has at least 35% free/reduced meals, you
might want to contact Dr. Art Stellar, former president of the Horace Mann
League, who is working with the National Education Foundation who will provide
the required 10% match for Federal QZAB (Qualified Zone Academy Bond) funds.
Each state has a limited allocation (usually in the millions) on a “first
come first served” basis.
First step, review info at the website: http://www.cyberlearning.org or
National Education Foundation go to the tab labeled Grants and scroll
down to QZAB. Then, if interested, send an email to artstellar@yahoo.com.
If the Federal QZAB funds are not used (or used
improperly) this funding will be eliminated in 2014. The current leftover funds
and funds for 2012 and 2013 are NOT impacted by sequestration reductions.
